Faith, Miracles, and a teeny thing called prayer…
FAITH: The theological virtue defined as secure belief in God and a trusting acceptance of God’s will.
MIRACLES: An event that appears inexplicable by the laws of nature and so is held to be supernatural in origin or an act of God
PRAYER: An act of communion with God, a god, or another object of worship, such as in devotion, confession, praise, or thanksgiving

My faith was being tested
I don’t think to date i’ve seen a REAL miracle
And I am practicing how to really Pray
So last night, I received a message from a friend that was very discouraging. One of my friends said that it was basically wrong for me to ask friends for support, since this is something I chose to do. My initial reaction was to send her a message saying “this is selfless what im doing, how could you say that”?
I called the World Race head of support about what happened. She prayed for me and explained that this isnt about supporting my life for a year…and this isn’t about getting money…but backing me on something I feel so passionate about. That I feel led to serve those in their homes and try to make their lives a little bit better. That I am not asking for money but inviting them to be involved in this journey and to watch their donations change the lives of thousands of people. Since many people cant go, or choose not to…I can be their hands and feet. That this wasn’t my plan, but Gods calling for my life.
I literally prayed for God to silence all other voices. To reveal to me if this was really his plan for my life. Would people support me if I just trusted in HIM? In my agenda, todays “TO DO” was to send out a facebook alert to people reminding them of all the events next week.
I didn’t do it.
Instead, I reflected on how I have been so richly blessed. I focused on loving other people, even when its hard…and for God to provide a Miracle.
A few hours later…Juliann Gigi emailed me
Juliann believed in what I was doing. She had seen the orphanages in Cambodia and the help they need. She believed in my cause and Gods calling for my life. She was inspired and thus inspired me!
She decided to sponsor me in Cambodia…and encouraged her friends that she would donate $1,000 if they donated.
She then asked me to send her flyers to pass out at Whole Foods and other stores….
She also notified companies she knew, about sponsoring me…
And in December she is coming to NYC and is going to give me contacts in Cambodia and Thailand
WAS THIS REALLY HAPPENING?
I don’t know how God does it, but he creates miracles. Every day ones that may be someones generous heart, or a beautiful sunset.
I am still in shock/awe that Juliann is helping me with my support raising. I am still in awe at how God works when you stop doing and trust in him. I am in awe at how he answers prayers, and if you follow him, he rewards you!

Juliann is a beautiful, smart, and compassionate woman. I am so thankful that she is now a part of my life. I will forever be thankful for her generosity, and the day she taught me what FAITH looked like. I posted a picture of her drinking Starbucks because she keeps using that to get people to donate!
