I would like to preface what I am about to say with a few things…
1-When you see the army, navy, air force etc throughout the streets in NYC…your first thought is “Uh, what is going on?”
2-As I walked past these Men and Women of honor, the Holy Spirit completely consumed me…I couldn’t get to my desk quick enough to share what God was telling me
3- Um, there was a fighter plane outside my office…that’s just weird
OK…but I got two messages and I can’t wait to share!
MESSAGE 1
I feel like God shared this with me more for the women of N squad then the men…but men I hope this helps you too. I looked closely at the uniforms of the US ARMY. The details of their uniform, their similar qualities, each button on their shirt perfectly placed.
I know many women struggle with Identity. The media glorifies beauty and “perfection.” What eye liner you can wear to enhance how your eyes look. Botox. Tummy Tucks. The Next Fad diet.
First and foremost…like Jake said at camp…We are women of God and that is amazingly beautiful. Our hearts and spirits shine so much brighter than what we wear and what we look like.
However, I know for some of you…you still struggle with your outward appearance. I know I do. I know when a picture is taken I automatically look at my flaws. I question God as to my certain features of mine are not…well…perfect.
Then God told me this :
Like the uniform of these men and women in the Army. I have made you perfect. I have designed your face and body (your outward appearance) for my purpose. What you see as flaws, I see as perfection. The way you think a part of you is flawed, I will use this to allow someone to connect to you. That flaw will be the thing that helps them find the Kingdom. Therefore, what is to you a flaw, is to me beautiful. Beauty is in the eyes of the beholder, so if you shall have my eyes…then all things about you are beautiful!
Message 2
WE ARE AN ARMY FOR GOD! Look at how these men and women stand proudly in their uniforms. Passerbys take photos of them. They stand at attention for their next order. They aim to please their leader. They risk their lives for what they believe in.
We are doing the same thing! Our uniforms may be jeans that haven’t been washed in a month. The people taking our photos may be people saying “Look at those weird Americans.” BUT HERE WE STAND…AT ATTENTION! We aim to please OUR leader…who is the leader of all leaders, and as scary as it is….we are risking our lives for what we believe in!
So beautiful, perfect, smart, funny amazing women and men of Gods Army….Aten–hut!
