We were asked to write a blog about how we felt before leaving on this mission trip. Here is what I’m expecting...
-I expect to be surprised in unusual ways
-I expect to have to let go of CONTROL
-I expect to see some of the most amazing sunsets on earth and more examples of His creation
-I expect to really miss my family and our traditions and holidays
-I expect that my birthday in Uganda may be a bit different then my birthday in NYC
-I expect to make some really good friends that will be like family
-I expect to miss my really good friends who have been like family
-I expect to feel lonely, especially in my tent
-I expect to feel scared at times
-I expect to talk to God and feel His love
-I expect to be changed
-I expect to eat foods that may be really weird
-I expect to have to let go of all the material items i’ve become so accustomed to
– I expect to write a lot and take so many photos
-I expect to cry ALOT- happy and sad…I’m an ENFJ so i’m pretty emotional
-I expect to bring hope to others and make a child smile
-I expect to feel passion like I could never imagine
“I cry out, for Your loving hands to heal me…I am weak, and I need Your love to fill me. You are my hope, and Your promise never fails me, and my desire is to follow You forever.”
