So during our time in Thailand, we did this thing called evangelism night. We would get in teams of 3 or 4 and go out into the night markets to tell people about Jesus. This one night, my team and I were getting lunch while doing it because it’s intended to be like casual everyday life type stuff so I was waiting in line for a smoothie. I was standing next to this man who looked like a tourist so I tried to start a conversation with him. His name was John, he was 24, and he was from France. His English was really good and I could understand everything he was saying but he was always apologizing for how bad his English was. We talked about everyday normal things like how France was and what I was doing in Thailand.
He told me that he was agnostic and that he didn’t really know or care if there was some greater power out there. I was amazed by how honest he was and how willing he was to talk to me. I started to think about how we were both people who met in a place that was far from both of our homes and that we were just as vulnerable as the other. We ordered the same smoothie and I told him I would pay for his if he let me pray over him. He took my offer so I asked him what I could pray for and he immediately said his stomach. He said it had been hurting randomly for 6 months and that the doctors didn’t know the cause of it.
I prayed that the doctors would find out what it was and that he would be healed in Jesus’ name. After I was finished he looked up at me with bright eyes and was amazed that somebody had the patience and love for a random person. I told him that It was all from Jesus but unfortunately, he had to leave right after that. So if your reading this could y’all pray for John? Pray for his stomach and That the Lord would open his eyes.
