It’s been a while since I last posted something. Life can get so hectic and busy. Class, work, homework, sleep, repeat. Finding time between 2 jobs and school is nearly impossible… or is it? We all get caught up in everyday life and sometimes our priorities aren’t exactly where they should be. For me; Someone who is about to go onto an 11 month mission trip 8 months from now should be focused on reading the bible, praying, fundraising, etc. I feel like I do everything except that. I say I don’t have time; but in all reality, I have plenty of time. Even if I wasn’t going on this 11 month mission trip, I should still be striving to be closer to God. Everyday is a mission field. You don’t have to go across the world to be a missionary. It can start at home. I say I’m busy with school and work, so I don’t have time to read the bible or take time to pray. When you stop doing all these things daily, then you start getting farther and farther away from God. I think sometimes we make the bible out to be some long textbook that we feel obligated to read. Maybe we think we have to say a prayer just right. God doesn’t care how elaborate our prayer is. Just talk. We should want to read the bible. We should want to pray, we should want to be in bible studies. If I have time to go hang out with friends and watch a movie, go shopping, or watch Netflix, then I definitely have time to pray, read a couple chapters of the bible. So, I think the biggest struggle for me right now is to focus more on God. Take that little extra time to spend with him. Read the bible, pray, get involved in bible studies, etc. Let us not get so caught up in the day, that we lose sight on God.
