Hey friends. I’m sitting in the Miami airport with a 16 hour layover trying to process my time in Haiti.

Haiti was our first month and one to remember. I was pushed outside my comfort zone and challenge to grow in ways I didn’t know were possible.

We did a wide variety of ministry this month at Mission of Hope from painting, construction, kids clubs, village time, organizing the orphanage and much more.

I got sick for about 5 days with what is though to be Chikengunya. During my sickness I was so emptied of The Lords presence I asked God for something, anything to help me cling to Him in my moment of need. Then I heard is “Jesse, I am a battle worth fighting for.

God seriously blows my mind, the day before I was telling a squad mate how I’m tired of fighting. Tired of fighting the sickness, the kids at the orphanage not liking me, processing life, and trying to feel Gods presence. I was tired of fighting and ready to give up.

Then tonight while we were on our layover a squad mate and I stayed behind and she listened to my heart, my struggles and my triumphs (mostly my struggles) she looked at my and said “He’s worth the battle you know.”

Dang God, you continue to amazing in how you work in my life. I will continue to keep fighting this battle, sometimes it’s not easy and it’s not fun, but it is oh so worth it!

We are making our way to Bolivia for month TWO can you believe it? This upcoming month we will be ALL SQUAD (all 41 of us together), sleeping in our tents, taking bucket showers, and cooking our own food. Please keep us in your prayers for safe travels, rest, and team unity this month!

Much love,
Jesse
