Hello Friends! I’m sitting here on a bus in AFRICA, so I thought I’d write a post about this past month as we journey into our next month.
The month of December we were in Quito, Ecuador working with an organization called Inka Link, specifically with COVI. COVI works with at risk youth to give them a safe place and a warm meal, but we never got to be with the kids we got placed in the garden that helped feed the kids. It was a huge disappointment for myself and our team but that’s not what I want to share with you. I want to tell you all about the amazing transformation that happened in my team.
Last month as I previously wrote, my team was really struggling, this month we were a new team made new by the love of Christ!
Each day we prayed before starting our work, we had Christ centered conversations that challenged my views, and we laughed together! The change in our team was very evident the day team changes were announced.
I have spent 24/7 with these people and in the matter of an hour that got turned upside down. Now being really honest I cried almost all day, we were suppose to “make a memory with our new team” but that was the last thing I wanted to do! It felt like my 5 best friends had just been ripped away from me and there was nothing I could do about it.
Now I knew in my heart this new team was in Gods plan for me and would grow me in great ways. I sat in the swing by our house and asked God for strength and peace, strength to let go of my old team and peace to accept my new team.
After spending a few days with my new team it is wonderful! I do miss my old team so much but my new team is already growing and stretching in great ways!
We have made it to Africa and are loving it so much! Please pray for our teams as we are getting settled in our ministry!
