Why are you going to leave everything behind and travel the world for 11 months?

I can not tell you all how many times people have asked me this question over the last few weeks.

The way that I found about The World Race is through a customer (I work at Starbucks). The customer was on their way to the airport to pick up the daughter who had just finished the race. For the last few months I have been in search of a missions trip that I would fall in love with but could not find the right fit. Once I heard about the race I went home and search it for hours. Through a lot of prayer and thought I applied and was accepted, it was an opportunity to put all my trust in God and be fully commited to putting my plans aside for my life and let his plans shine through.

Over the last few years I have great opportunities to travel and see different cultures and parts of the world, I call it my “travel bug,” I want to see everything and expereince as many cultures as possible. So far I have been to Spain, over 17 days we traveled all over the country, my next trip was London, Paris, Switzerland, and Rome for 14 days.

Over the past several months God has really put it on my heart to push myself outside of my comfort zone and try new things. I am so comfortable in my life, my job, and my family. Over the next year and a half of raising money, preparing for the trip and then actually going on my trip I will be through an incrediable growing and learning proccess. Public speaking, asking people for money, talking to people I do not know very well, and putting all of my trust in God’s hands are just a few things that I will be doning.

I am going on The World Race to teach others about our amazing Heavenly Father and share his unfailing love with them.

Thanks for reading!
