We have just wrapped up month 7 of the race and although this journey is at times crazy and wild it is starting to feel more and more like normal life. Tomorrow I fly to Malaysia which will be a day filled with a lot of needed patience and uncomfortable plane rides while catching up on sleep! But, despite that there are still moments on the race I can not believe, this is my life! I had one of those moments about a week ago in the bottom of a pool. A group of 6 of us went to the directors house to empty out his pool for him (there are no pumps in the bottom) so we got in our dirty work clothes and bucket by bucket emptied all of the water out of the pool. Let me tell you there was an ecosystem in the bottom of that thing!

About an hour into our day Luke said he was feeling convicted because we had forgotten to pray before we started the day, both myself and Seth said we had thought about it but because everyone had already started we didn’t want to bother everyone. Man how wrong is that! So, with a nudge of the Holy Spirit, Luke asked if we could gather in the bottom of the pool and pray. The Holy Spirit showed up big time! We prayed over anything that the Lord laid on our hearts such as the Parent Vision Trip, our next month in Malaysia, our funding, what happens when we go home, ect.

Then Luke asked if we could spend a few moments in silence and the Lord for a word. My mind was spinning but the Lord spoke to me in the moment with a few different things, first was the word “trust” because a lot of us are worrying about next month and it not being the safest or coming home and not knowing what to do with our lives. Next the Lord showed me a vision of our squad getting off the plane in Malaysia and we were surrounded by angels protecting and guarding us. Lastly, I saw butterflies, which make me remember to stop and enjoy Gods creation and this beautiful place he made for us he put so much detail into this place even in something as small as a butterfly.

Soon everyone shared what they heard and Megan shared about a song so going along wherever the spirit leads we sang the song and then played more and more songs. I had my eyes closed focusing on the words and something touched my shoulder, I opened my eyes but nothing was there. I closed my eyes again and the vision I had was of Jesus walking up behind me, touching my shoulder to spin me around and dance with him!

Over this past month I have started a 90 day Bible reading plan so just as it sounds if I follow the plan I read the bible cover to cover in 90 days. I never thought highly of the Old Testament but after reading through a good portion of it I have just fallen in love with God so much more! This is just a little from the month but a lot of great things have happened.

Ministry this month was painting and a lot of it! We spent our weeks and Hunnington Retreat Center and our weekends back to our hosts house to rest and go to church. While at Hunnington Retreat Center we painted the entire camp, it’s amazing what a coat of paint can do! We also painted the church and cleaned out two pools! Thank you Zimbabwe for a month full of rest and growth!

On a different note many of my squad mates are still in need of funding, if you feel lead please click the “meet my squad” button and you can see everyone who needs your help!
