In the Webster dictionary, ‘boycott’ means a group's refusal to have commercial dealings with some organization in protest against its policies. To ‘boycott’ is to refuse to sponsor; refuse to do business with.
In 1764 American colonists boycotted British goods in protest of an Act the Brits established that created economic difficulty. In 1980, President Jimmy Carter ordered a boycott of the 1980 summer Olympics in Moscow to protest the invasion of Afghanistan. One of the most famous boycotts of all time was the Montgomery bus boycott in 1955 when Rosa Parks refused to give up her seat to a white man. Civil Right leaders protested with a boycott. So it seems that to boycott something is good! It means that change is right around the corner if only enough people stand up and protest! A boycott lasts for a period of time and usually the people, group, company, etc…being boycotted relents, giving in to the boycotter’s demands and protests.
If this is true-if to boycott means that we want better; that we are unarguably on the right side of the line-then why do we boycott God? Really?! Why do we serve Him for a period of time and begin our boycott again? Why do we continually push the brakes and shout our dissatisfaction with the way He runs things? Why do we stomp our feet, clench our fists and turn red in the face waiting for God to deliver what we’ve demanded??!! We blame God when the blame is on us. We run aimless and carefree and when we fall we curse God and turn our backs on Him. Ironic but not-we get upset because we’re stuck in the hole we jumped into.
There’s a solution to everything. There’s never a problem that there isn’t an answer to if you look hard enough. If you’re willing to take the time to figure it out or find someone who can figure it out. We could boycott ourselves but that would be pointless. We’ll get nowhere beating ourselves up. The thing to do is take a step forward. How about we unclench our fists, take a breath, and stop stomping our feet? I’m quite sure at that point we might hear what God is saying; might see where He’s pointing us to. How about we stage the ultimate boycott? A lifelong boycott with as many activists as possible protesting against one name. satan. That’s what we need to do. The Ultimate Boycott. Forever protest against him. Stop protesting against God and begin protesting against the one who really means us harm. It’s simple really: God gave us life, breath, the ground we walk on. And satan….?
