Hello friends and family!
As most of you know, I graduated last May and decided to attend The King’s College in New York City. I spent the entire fall semester at King’s and while I was there, God was deeply stirring my heart. During my time at King’s, the most important dream I realized was my ardent and growing desire to serve the nations. I knew that the Lord was leading me toward a new season of my life beyond King’s. After an extremely emotional and academically strenuous time in New York, I decided to return home to consider what my next step would be. I knew that I needed a time of healing, but I also knew that I had to make a decision about what the next season of my life would look like. I could not shake the World Race Gap Year from my mind. After weeks of staring at my application, I finally mustered up the courage to hit send. Within a week, I was interviewed and accepted, and here I am today!
So, what is the World Race Gap Year? The World Race Gap Year is a 9-month mission trip traveling to 3 countries across the globe. I will be spending 3-month periods in Thailand, South Africa, and Nicaragua. My squad, which as of right now consists of 50 young men and women between the ages of 18 and 22, will be serving people within various communities. We will have the opportunity to invest ourselves in relationships with people in unique cultures, serve the poor, minister to victims of human trafficking, and love the forgotten. Through this specific trip, I will be able to live out my passion for working with victims of the sex trade and caring for orphaned children.
This experience will be full of both joys and challenges. I will have to pack my entire life into a backpack, relinquish any sense of control that I have, and leave my comfortable life behind. However, one of the greatest obstacles will be the financial challenge. To be completely funded by early September, I must raise $12,491. This is where I need your help. I truly believe and trust that Jesus provides for His servants and this is why I call upon you. I am asking you to partner with me, whether by prayer or in monetary giving. Your support—in every form—will be cherished and necessary.
I have 3 financial goals:
- $6,000- Raised by 5/22/2015
- $9,000- Raised by 7/2/2015
- $12,491- Raised by 8/21/2015
