I'm a little late posting this information, but better late than never, right? While at training camp a couple weeks ago, it was announced to Z Squad that out route had changed once again. Our route has changed thusly:
Zambia
Malawi
Estonia
Latvia
Lithuania
China
Mongolia
Thailand
Cambodia
Vietnam
Nepal
Our 3 East Africa countries got bumped due to safety concerns and it has become increasingly difficult to get visas in India, so the route was changed to what you see above.
I was initially a little bummed about the route change. I had specifically chosen Route 2 because it went to Rwanda, where I sponsor a child through Compassion International. I had hoped to meet him in person. But God almost immediately softened my heart to this change. Who knows what awesome things God has in store for us and the people we will encounter in these new countries. Besides, we will be the first World Racer squad to go to Mongolia! How cool is that? God has clearly set into motion His plans which will take the perfect people, to the perfect place, and at the perfect time.
Guess I'll just have to plan a trip to Rwanda after the Race. Darn, an excuse to travel the world more and love on God's kids… 🙂
