So as I was driving for what seemed like forever yesterday (from northern Kansas to Dallas), these lyrics were sung to my by For King & Country and I got excited for next years endeavors…but then I stopped and thought, 'next year yes, but what about my right now?!' Sometimes it's hard to remember, that through all the preparations for next year and the excitement of getting to see the world and experience the unimaginable, I have a mission where I am right now. There are people I pass by every day who need Jesus just as much as the people we're going to interact with next year. Mark 16:15 says, 'Go into ALL the world and preach the gospel'…where I live is apart of that world!
Anyway, this was an encouraging reminder to 'Refuse to Remain' content, to 'Refuse to Remain' merely in preparation mode and to not only think of the third world countries but remember that the world is right outside my door!
If I sing but don't have love
I waste my breath with every song
I bring an empty voice, a hollow noise
If I speak with a silver tongue
Convince a crowd but don't have love
I leave a bitter taste with every word I say
So let my life be the proof,
The proof of Your love
Let my love look like You and what You're made of
How You lived, how You died
Love is sacrifice
So let my life be the proof,
The proof of Your love
If I give
To a needy soul but don't have love then who is poor?
It seems all the poverty is found in me
So let my life be the proof,
The proof of Your love
Let my love look like You and what You're made of
How You lived, how You died
Love is sacrifice
Oh, let my life be the proof,
The proof of Your love
When it's all said and done
When we sing our final song
Only love remains
Only love remains
Let my life be the proof,
The proof of Your love
Let my love look like You and what You're made of
How You lived, how You died
Love is sacrifice
So let my life be the proof,
The proof of Your love
