A simple hello…

Imagine this….

You're walking through the airport, waiting for your gate to open as it's the first flight of the day… You casually extend hello's to the other patrons waiting in the area and then turn to silence as the 3AM alarm clock ring settles in as your reality… The gate opens, you board and quickly drift off into a short nap as, so it would seem that as soon as you take off you're landing. The time is 7AM and already your day seems to be fuller than any of your other "normal" days… You deplane and decide it's time to find rations as your stomach's growl could make one think you've got a dog in your pack… Walking through the port you see the glorious golden arches and b-line it to the counter! As you wait for your turn to order you see one of the recipients of your earlier hello's and decide to extend another. You exchange a few friendly words about the flight and bid fairwell as their meal is called. Patiently you await your meals preparation and casually glance around the room wondering which table should be picked to spend the next 3 hours. In an instant you notice your golden arches line buddy and decide to be social. Slowly walking to the table as to not startle your new friend, you ask for permission to join them. With a big smile your new friend agrees and as you sit nibbilng on the gourmet breakfast, conversation starts to bounce from one side of the table to the other until you notice your breakfast is gone and an hour of time has escaped your morning! Without recollection of how, the conversation turns to missions and your new friend starts talking about her granddaughter's beautiful heart for the nations and how she will be leaving in such a short time for a 2 month AIM missions trip… A flag is raised, your heart leaps inside, did she just say AIM? A smile shoots across your face as you recognize a door being opened. With excitement in your words you paint the picture of the vision inside and the opportunity you get to walk it out with AIM's World Race. Your hearts about to beat out of your chest with excitement at the fact that once again He's opened yet another door for you to share what's inside! What could be better than spending a 3 hour lay-over doting about the amazing vision God's bringing to life? Then, it happens, she says she wants to support you! She purchases your bracelets and takes a prayer card saying she'll be praying, along with her Bible study ladies, for support in all areas as you prepare and then go. How is it possible that 3 hours has passed when it feels as though it has only been minutes?! It's time to depart…your new friend walks you to your gate, hugs you, tells you she's proud of you and then says that since her granddaughter is fully funded she was going to help you raise the support needed for the WR. Is this really happening? Can this be real life? A stranger just a few hours ago now saying they want to be apart of the vision God's birthed inside of you! With everything exploding with excitement inside you bid fairwell once more and continue on with your travel plans… 

This, this was my reality a couple weeks ago as I travelled home to surprise my mother for Mother's Day! First off I was given a plane ticket by my brother's girlfriend, who had planned the whole weekend – secretly of course! And then, THIS happens! I was bursting at the seams with excitement! How could one weekend be full of so many blessing?!…and it was just beginning!! 

This truly was just another example of God's provision and love for me! Words cannot describe the emotions inside as I sat speechless in the airport. …and now, as I am writing it out and rememebering words and feelings shared, my heart is skipping beats in anticipation of what He could POSSIBLY have next for me! Gah!
