Sweet Heat!
This is my team! We are team Sweet Heat, because we each are kind, loving, having sweet qualities. Yet we are willing to cause some fires. We will be blazing some trails for the Lord. God has place each of us together to start this journey in Cartagena Colombia. We will have to rely on each other for everything, but our goal is to always bring it back to Jesus. By keeping Christ in the center of all we do, we will be able to allow the Holy Spirit to use each of us in bringing the gospel to South America.
Years ago, my parents divorced. Leaving me confused about everything, except Jesus. At that very same time, Christ placed me in the middle of a wonderful Christ center community to walk through the trails of divorcing parents. People that would not judge me, take pity on me or let me eat cookies and chocolate while watching movies and crying all day long. They challenged me to dig in deep in to God’s word and to be on my knees daily. Creating an environment of freedom and God’s love. Something at the time was very foreign to me. God appointed me to be placed there at just the right time. That ever since I have tried my best to live in that way.
Community living is the best thing that has happen to me. It’s taken the dark places in my life and brought them into the light. It as allow me to keep the lies of the enemy at arm’s length. It allow for the person that God has created me to be to slowing shine brighter.
“Iron sharpens iron, and one man sharpens another.” Proverbs 27:17
I have found that I tend to thrive best in this setting. God has shown me over the years this how we are supposed to live. And this will be the story not only with team Sweet Heat but with the entire L-Squad.
A group of people willing to love me like Jesus loves me, even when it’s not easy to do so.
I am going to do the same. We may not be perfect, but that is what draws us closer to Christ so that HIS perfect love seeps through us and spills on each other.
Here’s to 11 month of polishing God’s masterpieces, so that we shine like we were created to do!
