It’s been two years since I have seen this group of people, L-squad Expedition South America. We came together to celebrate Tera and Jacob’s wedding. Their wedding took place in Bozeman, Montana where about 15 of our squad attended. We did some hiking and had some quality time at our Air-BNB the day before the wedding. A time spent catching up on all the wonderful things that the Lord is doing in each of our lives and reminiscing about our time in South America together. Sharing of new relationships, new jobs and we shared about the struggles we have been facing. Although we do not see each other often I found it so easy and natural to share my heart with these people. These people have seen me in my worst and best days, yet because of the love of Christ in them they loved me through them and pointed me back to Christ. A bond that is tied by a wild crazy adventure around South America, with the most important thing that draws each of us together…God!

This time of reunion, I realize more than I have before, that we will never be alone. Each of us long to be seen and know by someone, but the reality is we are seen, known and loved by the Father. Being seen and know by others is a bonus. I feel that when God allows groups of people into your lives and are able to foster the spirit of community no matter the distance or time we are apart it shows that heart of the Father. His heart is for us to glean, to celebrate, to grieve but never to do any of these things alone.

I am so blessed to have seasons with the people God has placed in my path. With my eyes every more focused on the one above, I hope that I never take for granted the ones He places right in front of me. To all those that have spent time with me, have cried and laughed with me…Thank You! And may you always know that you’ve got a friend in Jesus…and Jess!
