I don’t typically deal well with sudden change in my routine. Something God is working with me on. I tend to fluster and feel like I am losing control. But with the help of Jesus and the Holy Spirit, I have broken off the spirit of fear failure and of losing control. I have let go of my need to feel in control of things. Although it’s very difficult, I am much better off putting FULL TRUST and DEPENDENCE in CHRIST ALONE! Every day I will lay my insecurities at the feet of Jesus, and grab hold of His hands as He will use others around me to polish me up. Gaining tools to fight against the lies that so easily creeps into my mind.

There’s a worship song they sung at training camp, that’s lyrics spoke right to my spirit. Here it is:

HEAD TO THE HEART

I open up to you This love that makes me new Oh may my heart receive This love that carries me

From the head to the heart You take me on a journey Of letting go And getting lost in you

From the head to the heart You take me on a journey Of letting go And getting lost in you

My heart is open wide I will receive your light You give me faith like a child In you my heart runs wild

Cuz there’s no shame  In looking like a fool When I give you what I can’t keep  To take a hold of you

There’s no shame In looking like a fool When I give you what I can’t keep  To take a hold of you

More than words More than good ideas I found your love in the open fields

[Repeat 3x]

From the head to the heart You take me on a journey Of letting go  And getting lost in you

From the head to the heart You take me on a journey  Of letting go And getting lost in you

There’s no shame  In looking like a fool When I give you what I can’t keep  To take a hold of you

There’s no shame In looking like a fool When I give you what I cant keep  To take a hold of you

And take a hold of you [Repeat 4x]

Every word of this song, is how I feel about my relationship with Christ! How I feel about letting go of fear, and shame. Taking a look at myself and truly seeing what He sees in me.

Sleeping in an Airport

A lot can happen in just 10 days. AIM has made every effort to make sure we are as prepared as possible for what life on the World Race might look like.

Training camp prepared us for as many different scenarios that could arise.  Eating in different cultures and being ready to be go at a moment’s notice, to being able to sleep in an airport with all the lights and sounds. We were challenged every day to be ready and open to what God has planned and although there is purpose in all that was going on, there was a sense of respect to listen to the Father’s voice.

God stretched me in so many ways, that I didn’t know or realized I needed stretching. It was a time to not only prepare physically with morning workouts, and 3 mile hikes carrying 30 pounds of gear. But to prepare spiritually, with time devoted to listening, and reading God’s word. Leadership pouring into us, real life iron sharping iron. Creating a community that is ready to serve the Lord anywhere we go.
