The next few weeks my team and I will be exploring the streets of Georgetown     Guyana. God has placed us here to do His will and to shine His light in dark places, to make a lasting difference.

The other night the whole squad was sitting together sharing about the God stories they have encountered in the few days of us being here in Guyana waiting on our Brazilian Visas. Then our squad leaders shared something which didn’t click until yesterday. They said, “God is always here and doing stuff, He’s just waiting on you to show up! Don’t be waiting for God to show up He’s already with you, keep your heart and your eyes open to see what He is doing!

The next morning my team woke up to pray together, seeking God’s guidance for our day. God reminded us to be present, learn people’s names, go where the people are among some others things.

We set off to the market to shop for meals for a few days. Then after lunch we headed to a coffee shop called Oasis to do a bible study. As we walked to the coffee we came across St. Georges cathedral a old wooden cathedral.

We noticed that we it was opened and we went inside. That’s when we met Judy Comings, a sweet women who gave us some information about the church and then help us out with some other questions. As we were leaving, I ask if there was anything we could pray for her about, and she ask us to pray for her son to settle down etc. So I prayed for her and then we went on our way to Oasis. We walk into Oasis and right away see a William a homeless man, whom some of my team had met. He shared a word with us about teaching the children and living out the gospel.

As we finished up with him we head to the back of the coffee shop when we are stop by another lady thinking we might of been someone else. Her name is Jessica, (I know how funny) we tell her what we are here for etc. She then said this is a miracle, because you have to here what I’m doing. She talks about working at the Ruimveld Children’s Aid center, sharing a few amazing stories of some children that she has help to get some medical care for and the need for volunteers.

Then she shares with us the work she’s been doing with some native tribes and that they have asked her to bring people to see them and to get to know them. As she is sharing these her stories I start feeling very excited, chills going through my body, experiencing God connecting us to each of our talents and callings.

Are you going to show up to what God is doing? Are you going to open your eyes to what God is doing around you? He is always here we need to be the ones saying YES Lord use me.

Stay tuned as this story is only beginning!
