This month we are in Maputo, Mozambique. We are staying at a place called Beacon of Hope. Is is run by an amazing lady originally from Texas, but has called this place home for almost 12 years now.

Beacon of Hope is a place that has a vision to raise up boys to be the men of God that they truly are. There are currently 6 guys living in the Hope house now ranging from 16-19 years old.
While living at the Hope house they learn skills and knowledge to hopefully allow them to have a quality job to support themselves. They also learn about God thru teachings and bible studies.
Last week the boys and our team put on a 3 day vbs for the local children.
This was a first for the Hope house guys, they had never run a vbs before…
It was awesome we played games, there were crafts, dramas, and the boys even learned a choreographed flag routine to perform for the kids on the last day.
On the last day we had about 200 kids show up… it was insane!! Yet the boys handled it like it was something they did everyday.
Face painting
Sharks and minnows
There were so many little babies who were brought by their older siblings
After the first day the kids all ran out the gates and down the road screaming “Vivo”
which means live
Lion masks (the craft on “creation” day)
