For my second blog I was given the assignment of expectations. What are my expectations for while I am on The World Race. This has been very tough, I have been staring at the computer screen for days and just can’t seem to come up with much.
There are the basics:
-I expect to be changed mentally, physically, and spirtually
Of course, Who sets out on a year long trip around the world
and returns the same, no matter the reasons you are on the journey.
-I expect to miss my family
but the reality of it is , I have gone a year with only talking
to my family on the phone and not seeing them in person before,
it didn’t kill me then and won’t now.
but I think this is one of those times where you truly can only expect the unexpected…
This is the kingdom of God at work.
There could be times in the field where we have to change locations with very littlle or no notice.
People could get sick.
Wars could break out.
This is truly an adventure into the unknow.
So how can I set expectations?
The only thing I can be sure of is the love and protection of the Lord.
The Lord is my light and salvation-
whom shall I fear?
The Lord is the stronghold of my life-
of whom shall I be afraid
