I need help. It's a pride thing, I know, and I'm working on it, starting with this blog post.
Today was a hard day. I was tired, busy all day, and then had a hard day at work. The lies today were loud. So loud, I got on the phone with one of my best friends and as soon as she answered, I said “what is going on in my life? I’m about over this whole process because I don’t know how much longer I can do this.” I think it was bad today because I realized I NEED HELP, and lots of it. Aside from financial support, I have lots of needs, and it hit me today that I can’t do it alone. I need to ask for help, to humble myself and admit that without the help of others, I won’t make it very far in this journey. I am very much a “do it myself, figure it out along the way” type of girl, and I have seen that already in prep for the race. Instead of humbling myself and asking for help (in areas other than support) I have tried to do it alone. My bank account and I know that’s not possible, but in my mind, it’s better than asking people. So this is me, humbling myself and asking for help. If you can’t, but know someone who might be willing to help me out, please pass my information along. Share my blog with family and friends, even if they can’t help me out, I would love the prayers. - GEAR– I am in need of all types of things. I still need pretty much everything from a pack, sleeping bag, tent, quick dry towel, and so on. - PERSONAL SUPPORT– Yes, I need personal money. I would love to leave the states with more than $100 in my bank account. I will have a few bills to pay while I am gone, and need 11 months worth of money to cover those, along with money for souvenirs, food (special), doctor visits, and other things. I also have things to get before I leave like toiletries that will cost a lot. ELECTRONICS– I need a new computer for the race. I have a old one that is heavy, and the battery only last 45 minutes off the charger. I would love something lighter and with better battery life. I also am in need of a Kindle/Nook for reading so I don’t have to tote around books.
Also I am in need of an iPod Touch since I am not taking my phone and my current iPod decided to break. Girl’s gotta have her tunes, especially for travel days.(Jesus provided an ipod for me…yay!) - $11 ON 11 EVENT– Everyone’s doing it…the famous time has come for donating $11 on November 11th in honor of the race being 11n11.
