Costa Rica

Where to start?

We have been working with a ministry called Conexion! We have been able to do a lot of different types of ministry as we have come alongside them. We have been living with a North American family from Alabama that has been here for 6.5 years. They are some of the best people I’ve ever met and we have definitely been added as honorary members of their family!

We started the month doing a medical clinic in a town called Puerto Viejo. We stayed there for 4 days and got to give medical care to the community as well as dental and vision care! Since I’m a nurse, they used me and the other two medical people on my team as “doctors.” We got to see patients and give out basic meds, etc. Luckily there were two guys that had a lot of medical experience that were able to answer our questions and help translate Spanish medications to us!

We’ve also gotten to work in schools to teach English as a second language. We’ve spoken at a local high school and got to share about the world race as well as why it’s good to make good decisions and have goals in life. Our team has gotten to do a lot of sports days, which has proved to be really fun and really tiring at the same time!! 😉

My favorite ministry so far has definitely been women’s prison ministry. It really rocked my world and probably deserves it’s own blog. So I’ll tell ya more about it soon!

That’s a little bit about my time here, but like I said, there’s more to come! I will share all about what I learned this month and why it was probably my most challenging month so far!

Love you all so much! Thanks for reading this!
