Haven’t updated my blog in a while, so there’s gonna be a lot I’m gonna try covering here.
I mentioned before that I injured my finger pretty badly, but through all your prayers my finger was pretty much fully healed after a little more than a week. Praise God for the swift recovery!
Last week was our final week in Nicaragua. We continued serving at Light and Salt Ministries- Nicaragua by teaching English, playing sports, and spending time with the staff. My time there was filled with many blessings, and the friendships I made with some of the boys and staff are ones I’ll always cherish. Also, even though our host was not with us for most of our time there, I’m joyful that she truly appreciated how close we were able to connect with the people at her ministry. The fact that we were a blessing to LASM really encourages me and I’m looking forward to how we can continue bless those around us at not just our next ministry, but also to people we interact with everyday.
Our travel days were Monday and Tuesday. We met up with the other half of our squad, and took a bus through Honduras and El Salvador; we stayed overnight at a YWAM base in El Salvador before continuing the long bus ride. Since we crossed so many borders, we had to get off the bus a few times to go through immigration. Tuesday morning, we finally arrived at the border of Guatemala, and we got to Antigua (where we would have debrief) in the afternoon.
Our time at debrief here in Antigua has been very refreshing. Really appreciating this time we have to take rest in God, reevaluate on how we did as a team the last six weeks, and plans to improve for our last half in Guatemala. I didn’t realize how much I needed to rest: the last few weeks have felt like a constant grind, and I felt really burnt out. Also, our squad coaches and mentor took their time to fly here and check up on how we’re doing; the wisdom they have been imparting on us has truly been eye-opening. I definitely feel prepared to head into our next ministry with an open heart to what the Holy Spirit may be revealing to me.
