From this point on I will be making up references to things in my blog titles from this point on and sometimes it may not capture the feel of the blog so bear with me.

Throughout the month here in Honduras, I have already seen some of where the church in America is trying to get to.  From what I have seen from the lives of missionaries whom I already interacted with, I’ve seen the type of church community which was talked about when I was back in the states but we have not yet got to the point  Seeing how they deal with adversity with patience and faith has impacted me greatly.  There simply is no time for fighting over different interpretations of the bible.  They only focus on the gospel mission.  When the power goes out (which is common here) or when vehicles don’t start. It does not affect them too much.  If I or other people I know had to deal with the same problems back in the states we would be in a very complaining and angry mood.  They live with a culture of adaptation to situations which requires much yielding of control.  Adapting to situations rather than fixing them is something that people down here live in and it does not make sense to us North Americans.  Control is something we as people don’t like to lose (which we don’t have in the first place) and some of us even think that we can gain control over God with our empty self-righteous moral behavior when we think God owes us something.  So it is something that can speak to our spiritual condition in a way.
