Well it has been quite a while since I have updated my blog last. Since then I have been to many places and done many things. To sum it up, I am in the Philippines right now. We went from Cape Town to Johannesburg then were on two different plane rides totaling around 15 hours. After that we hung out in Manilla for a few days before heading to our current location. In the time we were in Manilla I went to Taco Bell for the first time in over 8 months (I may write a separate blog about that adventure), ran a 5k, and hung out with some awesome people on our squad. After our time in Manilla was done we headed to the island of Mindoro to a city close to Puerto Galera for our ministry. We are working with Threads of Hope (you may have heard of them). They are an organization that gives around 500 women jobs in the area by selling bracelets in the States and other locations abroad. The story about how this organization started is amazing, and seeing its influence in the area is even more amazing.

What else is new? Hmmm… well as of now I am a certified scuba diver. Yeah! When we arrived, our contact told us that a couple people on the last team got their certification in their stay here, so me and a couple other people decided to go for it in our stay here. I have always wanted to scuba dive around the Great Barrier Reef in Australia, but I have never thought about getting my certification, so this month was a great time to get a great price and see some awesome stuff as I got certified. It has also been a good opportunity to hang out with some of the people at the shop we are getting certified at. Our instructor is from Germany and is probably one of the most intricate people you will ever meet. It has really been fun getting to know some of the people there.

Other than that it has really been a tough month for the two teams serving here in Puerto Galera. We have to walk a grueling 25 minutes to get to the beach, and we have to serve the Lord by playing volleyball with some of the tourists here. It has been an extremely fun month. There are so many things to do here. We have done house visits, cleared land, performed skits, led worship, played with kids, counted bracelets, helped cut down massive palm trees, sand the tops of the logs from the palm trees, create a play area for the kids around here, and the list could go on.

I guess that is a quick glimpse of what has been going on recently. I still have a couple blogs to write from our stay in Cape Town, so pray that the I get the initiative to write those and let you guys know more about that place.
