I am 21 years old, and I will be graduating from the University of Memphis in May with a degree in economics. If you are wondering, yes economics IS as boring as it sounds, but I enjoy it in a weird way. Right now I am pretty sick of school, so I do not know what the future holds with that, after the world race is over.
I currently live in Memphis and have been in Memphis my whole life (except for 4 months, more on that later). I think my parents are the best in the world. Throughout my life they have been very supportive of everything I have chosen to do, including the crazy things. I am truly blessed to have them in my life. Besides my parents, I am pretty close to the rest of my family seeing as pretty much everybody lives in Memphis, except for my uncle’s family. They just moved to New York to plant a church up there (pretty cool stuff!). My family background has definitely shaped my life and was a key factor that led me down the road to choose the world race.
Like I said, my life was pretty boring until a few months ago. Last year I decided that Memphis is BORING, so I decided to get out for one semester. So I decided to go to school in Hawaii at the University of Hawaii at Hilo on the big island. Words can not even describe how awesome the time I spent there was. I had so many adventures and made so many awesome new friends in the few months I was there. I miss them terribly right now, and I hope to go back and see them again someday. I got involved at the BCM (Baptist Collegiate Ministries) down there, and some of the experiences I had there were very crucial to shaping the way I viewed the world, and definitely led me down the road I have taken. I will talk more about that later in another blog.
Here’s a little bit about my personality. I am extremely easy going and probably more sarcastic than most. Most of all, I love to laugh and have a great time no matter what I am doing. That is why I have chosen the friends that I have. They are awesome, and always make me laugh, and it is definitely NEVER boring. Another great thing about them is that they definitely have a heart for the Kingdom as well, and this allows me to have deep conversations with them about what God is doing in my life. I am truly blessed with the friends that I have!
Well that’s probably enough for now. If you have made it this far, thank you for learning a little more about me. You will get to see more of my personality and more of my heart later in my future blogs. I will leave you with one of my favorite verses. John 16:33- “These things I have spoken to you, so that in Me you may have peace. In the world you will have tribulation, but take courage; I have overcome the world.”
