It's funny how even though we're not supposed to have expectations for this trip I find myself with them anyway.  This month here in San Vicente, El Salvador has not looked at all how I expected it to and yet it is everything that the Lord has wanted it to be – we just keep praying "Lord, have your way".

When we arrived here our first day we had a meeting with our contacts where they told us all the things we would be doing this month and there was quite a bit on that list.  However, I think we've not even done half of what we were supposed to.  Now to those of you who know me and those that don't, you know that I like to have my "ducks in a row"!  I like to have a schedule and to know what's going on at least somewhat in advance.  However, this has been a month, much like last month, where we've not even known what's happening the next minute!  The Lord has been teaching me to be flexible and I must say it hasn't been nearly as hard as I thought it would be.  I actually really like not knowing because it just leaves room for God to have His way.  And that's really been the case.  If we had been doing some of the things we were scheduled to do, then I would have missed out on some of the ministry opportunities that I did have.

I've had the opportunity to be able to minister to one of our contacts, to go to a bar (which is really more like a brothel) to talk to the prostitues about Jesus, pray for a random women on the street whose baby was sick, create a skit about the Armor of God for a youth service – it was quite hilarious, I might add.  I've been asked and able to help lead worship in several church services and hang out with and pray for the elderly.  All of these things were not on our original list of ministries this month, but God knew what He wanted to use us for and it's been awesome to watch Him have His way.

I just think that we serve an amazing God, One who would send His only Son to this earth to die and rise again for us and for all those around us.  It's awesome to be a part of Him changing lives all around the world, including here in El Salvador.  And it's awesome to just really watch God have His way – to see His people turning to Him, even if it doesn't look how we expect it to.  It's really quite amazing.

Thank you to everyone for your prayers once again.  God has been so good to protect us and keep us healthy so that we can continue on in serving Him.  Please keep the prayers coming.  Also, if you want to email us, please do so.  We love to hear from all of you and pray for you, and can always use encouragement.  You can hit the "Contact Us!" and it will go straight to our email and I'll do my best to respond.  Love and miss all of you!
