Yep, it's true! One week from today we are leaving for Miami where we'll meet up with the rest of our squad and leave the morning of the 7th for the Dominican Republic!
This journey so far has been crazy to say the least and I imagine the next year will be a contiuation of that. People have been asking me so much if I'm excited and I am, though I know I haven't shown it much. The stress of packing up my house, packing my bag for a year, taking care of all the loose ends, and still working…well it's been a bit overwhelming.
The other day I was thinking about this trip and trying to wrap my brain around what God is going to do in and through us. I was having a moment where I was feeling quite inadequate and not quite ready to leave. I was reading Psalm 47 and God reminded me in verses 7-8 that He is over everything:
"For God is the King of all the earth; sing to him a psalm of praise. God reigns over the nations; God is seated on his holy throne."
None of this trip is about Jeremy or myself. It's not about what we do or what we say. Only God is over the nations and He reigns above all else and He is the only one who can change lives. He wants to use us to do that and we're just honored to be used by Him.
So we have a week left to do our best to prepare. Please be in prayer for us as we say our goodbyes and embark on a journey only the Lord could orchestrate. We love all of you and appreciate your support!
