Hey everyone!

This is long overdue!  We are alive and well and I'm sorry we haven't been able to get a blog out to you sooner.  This has been such a fantastice month of ministry here in the Dominican Republic.  Our team was blessed to be doing ministry up in the mountains in a village called Los Montacitos and surrounding villages.  We had very limited internet and weren't able to get onto our blog to update all of you.  So here we go!

Our first month here we were just thrown right into everything.  We stayed in our tents all month without electricity and had very little running water.  It was a bit chilly so we had many campfires.  But as tough as that may seem, we feel like we were truly blessed to have stayed on top of a mountain with an incredible view all month.  The sunrise was beautiful, lighting up all of God's creation and the sunset was even better, leading to a sky full of gorgeous stars.  That alone reminded us of the Lord's majesty.

We had many different ministry opportunities.  We partnered with a local evangelical church there.  We participated in their church services by singing songs, and we organized the children's Sunday school classes for 3 weeks.  We also did English classes in which the pastor and his wife attended.  We were also able to help with the construction of the expansion of the church.  And one of our most fruitful ministries was our door-to-door ministry.  We went to several different villages where we were able to talk with and pray for people.  I was able to share my testimony serveral times with people as Jeremy translated (he was our only translator for the month…God used him in big ways!).  Through this minsitry 6 people came to know the Lord Jesus as their Savior!!!  How awesome is our God!  We were also able to provide Bibles for these same people, as well as 2 other people that were saved at 2 different church services.  We're praying that God continues the work He has started there.

We are continually amazed at how God works in people's lives and also how He has worked in our lives this month as well.  God really stretched Jeremy in his translation, as it has been a while since he's used it on a regular basis and God stretched me in being really bold with my testimony about why we don't have kids yet.

We leave Thursday morning for Ecuador.  We don't know what our ministry for next month looks like yet or what kind of internet we will have, but I hope to try to keep all of you updated.  One thing is for sure, the name of Jesus is being preached and hearts are being changed for eternity and we're blessed to be a part of it.
