Well, once again this is a bit overdue but here we go.  Hopefully I'll be able to get a few blogs posted in the next few days before we head to Peru!

So this month was really cool for Jeremy and me in that we were able to work with Compassion International this month.  This organization is close to our hearts because we sponsor a little girl in Tanzania through Compassion.  The amazing part about being able to work with them was that we were able to see first hand exactly how God is working through the workers and impacting the lives of the sponsored children.

We were blessed to be able to go together with a Compassion worker to visit the moms of the sponsored kids.  Some of the things the workers do are share the Gospel with the families, pray for and encourage them in their walk with Christ, and teach them different things about parenting.  In the visits we went on, the moms were being taught how to be creative with their kids in the area of art without having to spend a lot of money.  They were teaching them to use things in their kitchen for paint, such as hot chocalte mix, instant coffee, mulberries, and ketchup.  It was fun to watch the moms and kids do art together, knowing that it was more about the creativity than what was being used.  At the end of the visits, Jeremy and I had the opportunity to pray for the families as well.  God is definitely using this organization to make a difference in the lives of little ones and their families all around the world.

One visit that sticks out to me was one I went on with another girl on my team who is also a hairstylist.  The reason we went with is because we have been cutting hair all month for Compassion kids and their moms, and it is often difficult for the moms to come to the church to get their hair cut so we decided to go to them.  We went to this house with a mom and a little baby.  Sarah, the other stylist on my team, cut the mom's hair while the Compassion worker was discipling her, and I was as happy as could be because I just got to hold the baby the entire time.  It was amazing to me that God used my love for babies to give a mom some time to get her hair done and learn about Him all at the same time.  Holding a baby doesn't seem like much, but to her, in that moment, it was everything.  If we are just willing to be obedient even in the smallest, simplest things, God can use them to accomplish incredible things in the lives of those around us.  And I am blessed to be a part of how God worked in her life that day.  The Lord is so good!

This is the little baby I got to hold for almost an hour…so cute!
