Merry Christmas everyone! It doesn’t
quite feel the same in Thailand when it’s 80 degrees and to be honest
it’s hard on the Race to even really keep track of what month, much
less what day it is. Nonetheless we have had some nice reminders
such as Thai Christmas carolers randomly stopping by the orphanage
one night, the Christmas trees setup for the girls, and unfortunately
the Mexican restaurant we were all excited about was closed already
for the holiday… We’re all in good spirits though and got a few
days off from our manual labor at the orphanage to go spend Christmas
Eve with the O-squad girls in Chiang Mai. Yesterday we spent time
with the girls at the orphanage and watched them open Christmas
presents and ate lunch with them. It was the absolute best way to
spend Christmas when not at home. The home there just has a family
spirit about it and it was wonderful to see how excited the girls
were to get gifts and photos from their sponsor parents. We had to
say good bye to the girls afterwards as we’ll be in Chiang Mai until
Monday when we head to Cambodia via Bangkok.

Merry Christmas to everyone and also
have a happy New Year!
