Quick Update! We left The Philippines on November 6th and arrived safely, after another long layover, at our hostel in Thailand that same night. Our group had a few days of transition and culture orientation at the Hostel. Myself, on the other hand, spent most of my first days laying in bed. (It’s hard to admit, but yes…I got sick). Luckily I am blessed and have really awesome teammates who brought me to a clinic and prayed over me multiple times. After getting medicine and taking a whole day alone to rest, I learned two things. My teammates are awesome and prayerfully bold AND it is so important to not only rest when you are sick, but rest in the Lord’s presence. He restored not just my body but my spirit that day and I have a new found need for Sabbath. I am feeling more like myself than ever, thank God!

So I’m sure the question is burning, “ What is Jeorgi doing this month?” Well I am glad you asked. We are ATL-ing… (ATL meaning, Ask The Lord.) Every morning we wake and ask the Lord what he wants us to do with our day. Some days look like going out into the community and having cool conversations with Tourist and if you’re blessed, english speaking Thai people! One day looked like walking to a temple and meeting Monks (talk about stereo types being SHATTERED). Other days it looks like your friend getting a random Vision of “blue nike sneakers” and then literally watching her pop out of her seat and talk to the random guy we found in a crowd… wearing BRIGHT blue nike sneakers… LIKE WHAT?? Other moments look like sitting in a coffee shop and writing a blog to my beloved family and friends back at home (because they deserve an overdue blog) *blowing kisses!*

 **Key Words and misspells are to prevent the gov. from taking down my blog post**

RLD= Red.Light.Districts

HT= Human. trafficking.

Prosti. = Prostitution

For ATL this month as a team, team Vessels Of Joy, we are volunteering in an after school program during the week(I will not be posting the name for the ministry’s safety) I love the heart of this ministry because they provide a safe place where children who live in high risk and RLD’s can come and hangout after school until their parents are home from work and it’s safe to go home. Their main desire is to instill the identity as children of God by building relationships through hearing their stories, bible studies, English lessons, games and etc. It’s been so cool to experience them welcome us into their conversations and giggles. Did I mention the girls I get to work with are teens (I LOVE IT)!

 To define RLD to those who don’t know:  These are areas and streets, come nightfall(usually), that are filled with prosti-tution. Most of these woman enter into prosti-tution as a way to make income for their families and/or are sold by their parents into the s.ex slaveryy….again to make money. And in these areas children during the day and night are at high risk for abduction to be sold into HT. And to throw in another fact, pornography fuels the s.ex/prosti-tution industry…but that is a blog for another time.

So going off of that… I got some awesome perspective this month. Some of you know a huge reason I wanted to come to Thailand was to work with woman in the RLD’s. And I mean, It was heavy on my heart. So, when I got here and found out it wouldn’t be guaranteed ministry, I’ll admit I was more than a bit discouraged. BUT THEN, our team met up with another team of girls for prayer and worship (this team was doing RLD ministry in a nearby area) and God opened my eyes to some solid truth. By working/supporting this after school ministry we are helping to create a safe place for these young teens (and very young children) to come, instead of them going home and being at high risk. So, I may not get to walk the streets praying and talking to these woman (still praying for the opportunity) But I, by the grace of God, get to hangout with really awesome teenagers and be a part of keeping them off the streets and instilling that they are “Fearfully and wonderfully made” by their Heaven Father! And though it’s not what I expected, we are a part of RLD Ministry.

It’s cool to see people being obedient and looking for more ways than one to help prevent HT here in Thailand. Can you join me in praying for this country, for the men, woman and children who are effected by this industry in Thailand, and many other countries for that matter. Can we as believers take a moment to lift up these families, kids, tourist, pimps, woman, and anyone involved to God and pray for a revival that Jesus’ name will run wild through these communities!

So I will leave it at that, and I’ll check in again later. But I can’t forget (wont forget) how Grateful I am to have you all supporting this trip and all that God is doing around the world! Thank you for my prayer warriors and financial supporters!
