Hey everyone! It has come to my attention there are some unanswered questions about the World Race. My purpose in writing this is to answer any of those questions and welcome you to join me on this Journey by subscribing to my blog and following me and my team as we take on 11 months and 11 countries in the name of Jesus!
Q:What is the World Race?
A: The World Race is an 11 month missions and Discipleship experience to 11 different Countries. It was founded in 1989 By Seth Barnes, and since then has sent out over 110,000 missionaries both short and long term. Myself and 49 other people are sent out to live As Christ, fulfill the great commission(Matthew 28: 16- 20) and advance the Kingdom on earth. Participants go through an application and interview process for a specific ROUTE. My route trains in August and launches in October 2018. I will return to the United States around September 2019.
Prayer request: With a grateful heart, I pray for this organization, that they continue to keep Christ the center and rise up leaders through their missions and send people into the world to be discipled and spread the Gospel.
Q: Where are am I going?
A: I will be going on the October 2 Route of 2018. I will be going to:
Asia (Philippines, Thailand, Malaysia)
Africa (Lesotho, Swaziland, South Africa)
Central/South America (Nicaragua, Costa Rica, Panama, Colombia, Ecuador)
Prayer request: Pray for the people in these countries, that they welcome us into their land and their homes with hearts that are ready to be transformed by the Gospel.
Q: What will we be doing on the race?
A: This can look different from day to day and varies depending on the country. Racers will be living as Christ in all they do, and as they serve. Every month, while on The World Race, my team and I will be sent into a new place with a new opportunity to serve. Adventures in Missions is associated with over 1,150 ministry partners around the world. Some of the opportunities my team will have include working with people who have been prostituted and/or victims of sex trafficking, exposed to AID’s and drug abuse, and many who live as orphans and widows. In other countries I will be working within prison ministries, campus ministries and in many areas where people have never heard the name of Jesus.
Prayer request: Please be praying for us to have obedient hearts. To prepare and begin (NOW) to listen to the Holy Spirit and be guided by Him to do His works in faith, hope and with the Love and power of Jesus Christ.
Q: How much will this cost? and what will that cover?
A: My trip will cost $18,200 which will cover all costs of travel and living abroad. This includes everything from visas, airplane tickets, food, missionary health insurance, to ministry costs(Ex: Project search light). All money given through my blog and personal checks (Anything not specifically given for supplies) goes directly to Adventures in Missions. I do not handle any of the money raised. It is processed through AIM headquarters in Georgia. Any additional money raised over my assigned amount, does not go to me, but a general fund for AIM. Therefore, I will notify all supporters when I am FULLY FUNDED.(WHOOP! WHOOP!)
With this being said. I am encouraged to Fundraise all of the money through varies ways and rely on the provision from God that all the funds will come when I am actively praying and asking for support from friends, family, and some cases strangers. I am saving money for personal money to use on the trip and for certain bills while away. I do not expect people to give into “personal funds” and no money given, unless instructed otherwise, will go anywhere but my Goal of $18,200.
Important dates:
|
Goal 7/20/2018 $5,000 |
Goal 9/21/2018 $10,000 |
Goal 11/30/2018 $13,000 |

Prayer request: Please pray, with expectant hearts, that the Lord will lay it upon specific peoples hearts to give and support financially in order to be sent!
Q: Will the you receive training?
A: Yes, each individual participating in the race is required to attend training camp. Training camp happens in August before launching(flying out) to their first country to start the ministry. Training camp is 10 days long and is held at the Adventures in Missions base camp in Gainesville Georgia. Also, each racer participating in the Race will be given online missions training and resources such as journey markers before and during the race, as a means of helping process, prepare and equip the racer. Training camp is all about team building and preparing physically, mentally, and spiritually.
Date of training camp: August 8th – 18th
Prayer request: Please be praying for team building and lots of courage and boldness to step out of our comfort zones, and for the breaking of any chains(sin and shames) that still hold us back.
Q: Who are you going with?
A: My route consists of approximately 40+ individuals… this is my SQUAD. As a squad, we will travel together to the same countries and meet-up for occasional debrief and leadership weekends. However, our ministry locations and work will differ. Upon arrival of a country, we will split into TEAMS. Teams are 5-10 individuals who DO LIFE together. We are with each other 24/7. We give each other genuine feedback everyday to help sharpen each other. We submit weekly CELEBRATIONS & CHALLENGES to leadership for accountability and encouragement. Each person in a team has a team role, decided by leadership during training camp. These roles include a team leader, treasurer, communications point-person, and more. Teams will likely change 1-2 times, while abroad.
While abroad, the squad is backed by a squad-specific leadership team. This includes SQUAD LEADERS, alumni Racers who travel some with us and identify/raise up new squad leaders within our squad to lead. We also have a marvelous crew of SQUAD MOBILIZERS, MENTORS, COACHES, TRAINERS, COORDINATORS… and more! We are well cared for!
Prayer request: To be unified in the body of Christ first seeking a personal relationship daily with God. To learn our spiritual gifts and to build each other up. To have discernment, wisdom, and leadership that is God honoring, Jesus centered, and Spirit Lead.
Q: Who are you staying with?
A: We will stay with local ministry hosts, called CONTACTS. We join the work of the local church through these contacts. If our contact does not speak English, we will have access to an interpreter. Our contact teaches us about their country and cultural expectations. Most times, we will pay our contacts upon arrival for boarding arrangements. (However, there are times when we stay in our tents for the month and do our own grocery shopping via team budget!)
We will not know much about our contacts until launch, and even then, we are given limited information. This information is subject-to-change (AND OFTEN DOES!), so leadership prepares Racers to not maintain ANY expectations.
Many of ya’ll have inquired specifics about province/state/city/village… simply, I do not know. I will likely not know until I arrive in that country.
PSA: Another reason to SUBSCRIBE FOR UPDATES… so I can tell you where in the world we are and what kind of work we are doing. I promise to be creative.
Prayer request: Please pray we partner with the missions, respect the missionaries, and add to the work that God is already doing there. If new seeds are to be planted in new places, pray the Lord provides the opportunity and contacts to do so.
Q: Are you Nervous?
A: To be completely honest? No. The amount of support and continuous affirmation from not only people but God himself, has made this journey one I’ve taken on with confidence. At first, I was scared, full of fear and then God reminded me that if the birds of the sky and creatures of the land are provided for, how much more will he give and provide for me, His daughter. Because I know this is His calling on my life, with much much prayer spent, I no longer walk in fear. I know my God, three in one, go’s before me and as my Father, protector, provider, warrior, comforter and salvation, which fuel’s me to go forth and make disciples.
I also am beyond grateful for all the comfort I have been given and have from family and friends, honestly it is completely overwhelming at times but so so good. I can’t thank them enough. I love you guys so much.
Prayer request: Please pray for my loved ones that I am leaving. For fearless hearts and protection while I am gone. Pray that we will be able to communicate enough, and when we can’t, for peace. Pray that I can use this time here before I go to create foundation memories to keep close while away. And please pray the Lord continues to fuel the fire in my soul to go with confidence in His calling on my life.
Q:How can I make a donation?
A: I am praying the Lord puts it upon people’s heart to give, and if you are one of those people, you can donate online by going to my home page on the blog and either clicking donate on the left side bar or bellow my picture to the write. You can give through mailing a check to :
