I love blogging.

This is a sentence I never thought I would say 2 years ago.

But now here we are, nearly 100 blogs later, and I practically think in blogs as I observe the world around me and compile it in the moment in my head as a story to share later with the rest of the world (or at least those who care to listen). On a daily basis, I find myself in awe of another aspect of God’s character, and on my drive to and from work I am writing the blog that would honor God in those moments in my head.

Obviously, I am not on the World Race anymore. It has been nearly a year since I’ve been home (WHAT!?) and I still find myself drawn to this medium to express myself and the things that God continues to teach me.

Perhaps I will fulfill the almost prophetic superlative my squad had given me at the end of my Race, saying “Most Likely to Continue Blogging Years After the World Race”. I will be weaning off of this blogging platform and moving to a new website I created that will house all of what God taught me, and what He has been teaching me here in the States, because honestly, sometimes I find it as fascinating, if not more than the things I got to learn from Him when I was traveling the world.

I’m sure my life will be full of many more adventures. From road trips to new books to interactions with cashiers at Burger King, God finds a way to speak to us wherever we are, and I hope to continue to share how God is speaking to me with all of you. That is why I have created a new blog! It’s simple. It’s the outpourings of my heart and what God is teaching me and showing me in scripture and everyday life. It is called:

“THE OVERFLOW”

This name was inspired by a vision for ministry in the US that the Lord gave me, and I believe continuing to share His faithfulness in my life in this way a step to fulfilling this dream. You can follow the blog at https://jelysu19.wixsite.com/theoverflow. I will post a few blogs that I had posted on this blog so you can get a taste of what it will be like. If you are interested and would like to stay up to date, you can subscribe to this blog the same way you subscribed for this one! No fundraising. No obligation. Just talking about God and how awesome He is!

I want to take this opportunity to say thank you again for supporting me. I’m going to get together with some of our squad from last year over the holiday weekend, and I’m already getting emotional about getting to spend a weekend with the people who taught me so much over the past year and inspired me to chase after God and never look back. I have them to thank for showing me where I want to go, and I have you to thank for giving me the strength to go there through fervent prayer, encouragement, and financial support.

For a general life update, I am currently staring into the vast open space of the world, praying to God where I fit in and where my gifts and passions can be used to their full potential. I’m ready to go to the ends of the earth again, but I’m just praying for discernment about which corner of the world God needs me in right now. I’m keeping an open mind and an open heart, and I will be kosher fasting for the next 40 days praying intentionally for discernment about my call to ministry, and what that means practically. I will post occasional updates here, but more so on “The Overflow” if you want to stay up to date.
