Being on a team with Emilie Blomberg has been such a treat. She is such a strong woman of God, and I have learned so much about her this month.
The first time I met Emilie was when we met some of our squad mates early in Nashville before training camp last October. I remember going to the Belonging Co. in Nashville, and the Holy Spirit just hit me and I started weeping. Emilie was right next to me, and she put her hand on my back, and she carried to much peace that she didn’t have to do anything else for me to be comforted. After that, I didn’t get to spend too much time with Emilie until our teams were together in Nepal. We didn’t get to do too much ministry together, but anytime I was around her, I just felt overwhelming peace, and that hasn’t changed one bit.
Emilie is a stead and even person, not easily rocked by her circumstances. That’s been very clear as she has been serving our squad as the logistics coordinator. Of course, it’s a stressful job with a lot of moving parts, but somehow in the midst of all of those responsibilities, even when things don’t go as planned, she can still keep her balance.
Emilie is always able to speak the truth, and is able to see multiple perspectives in situations. She will say what needs to be said, no more and no less, just the right amount. She knows who she is, what she believes, and what she stands for, and to me, that confidence is what really defines her as a person.
In the short month I’ve spent with Emilie, she has taught me how to stand with quiet strength, and how sometimes you don’t have to prove anything to anyone to show that you are confident. She has also taught me not to be afraid to say what needs to Be said in truth and grace.
I’ve enjoyed spending this past month with Emilie and I’m grateful for the opportunity I got to learn more about her.
