HEY FRIENDS! After going to church today I heard some cool truths that I wanted to share.
At my church today they honored and prayed for the seniors that are graduating from UNC and leaving the community of Greeley. It was so special to be prayed for as my fellow classmates and I will be sent out to spread the good news of Christ!
With regard to faith I think this message pertains to me quite well: Without JOURNEY and RISK there is no PROGRESS. I am not particularly the best at knowing scripture or being the ‘best christian’, but who is? It’s risky for me to step out into the missionary field, but because I am annointed and appointed by JESUS I have got all the tools I need. If we as people value and stand on our theology and rely on that more than Jesus, we need to re-evaluate. For me, because I am partaking on this journey and taking a huge risk to step out in faith, I will see progress in the way I know Jesus and how I love Him.
In Acts 13:16 Paul STOOD UP and spoke about the story of Jesus because he was willing and obedient to God. One way God has called me to obedient lately is doing my bible study with my World Race group. I’m not perfect at it but I’m learning how to study His word more and more each time.
Go daily to where God is calling YOU! It’s not always a big mission trip or something to be called. He calls us daily not to just be consumers of his word and sit at church on Sunday mornings. We ARE the church as we live and breathe everyday. STAND UP and BOLDLY LIVE for Christ.
The most powerful verse I heard was this: I want you to know that through Jesus the forgiveness of sins is proclaimed to you. Through him everyone who believes is SET FREE from every sin, a justification you were not able to obtain under the law of Moses. (Acts 13:38-39) Live in this truth!! Jesus gives us NEW life and sets us free from our sin. Let go of your old ways and let Jesus take the wheel 😉
