Throughout my whole Race, I have learned sweet lessons from the Lord. One of His revelations to me included dancing at a ball at the end of this crazy journey. I will be wearing a stunning ball gown resembling Cinderella’s. I like to believe Jesus is my prince in this mini vision of mine. He’s also revealed his liking for Cinderella’s character to me. She served endlessly in times of hurt, rejection, and confusion. She was truly beautiful.
One day back in Swaziland, the squad girls were singing “May We Never Lose Our Wonder” and the lyrics that got me were: “You are beautiful in all your ways.” Though this was meant for our creator, in that moment I knew it was my prince Jesus singing those words to me.
Cinderella
You call me beautiful in all my ways
Twirling in a light blue, shimmering, gown.
You called me out in the crashing waves
And at the end, I did not drown.
My being has radiance
When my eyes are up to the skies.
In affliction, there’s patience–
You provided light to get by.
At the end of this journey
Comes inevitable retrospect.
You heard my cry in Swazi
And revealed my barbed-wire fence.
But I refuse to dwell on the pain.
A dance at the ball with my lovely prince
Is one of the promises you made.
As Cinderella, I’ll take your hand and spin.
We will dance upon the waves forevermore.
With my hand in yours, I am secure.
You were always with me through the storms
And for days to come will stand a royal girl.
