Mendoza, Argentina. All Squad Month. YWAM. DIRT. BUNK BEDS
This month we have been working with a YWAM base in Argentina. It has been a huge blessing to be here on base. So YWAM stands for Youth with a Mission. The program is designed for students who want to grow in their relationship with the Lord. It is like a missions school, you first do what is called a DTS (Discipleship Training School) it is 3 months of studying and 2 months of ministry in another country. Then you can go to additional schooling if you choose, those schools have specific focuses, such as leadership, counseling, Arab Ministries, all sorts of them across the globe.
It is pretty awesome opportunity to be here and build relationships with the staff and students here. I have thoroughly enjoyed my time here in Argentina. It is a lot different than our first month of the race. Chile was a lot of working with the church and building relationships with the youth of the church, to help bring them back to church. As well we had the opportunity to build life long friendships with church members. Here the majority of ministry is manual labor and helping on base with different jobs; prepping for events. Like this last weekend my team and one other team worked on base all weekend setting up for a wedding. We decorated the banquet hall, outside on the lawn, got the grounds ready for guests. That look like raking the leaves, cleaning the outside of buildings, and a lot of dishes.
This last weekend was long, tiring but so incredibly worth every second. The wedding was beautiful and once we were done working the night of the wedding we got to go be a part of the wedding. My team and I sweat pants, wet tshirts and all went out on the dance floor with the bridal party. We finished the dishes at about 2:30 AM and started our day at 9 AM. I was up until about 3:30 AM lol I know LATE (or should I say EARLY) LOL.
This month is all squad month and that means that my whole squad of 50 are together and staying in the same place!! I love my squad of people! They are amazing and all so different and mean the world to me; they are more than friends…MY FAMILY<3 We are staying these camp style of dorms! It is quite interesting to say the least; I swear they were made for children because they are so short on the bottom bunks but hey I am so thankful that I have an actual bed this month. In my room there is 14 bunks and upstairs there are 26 bunks. Yeah tight quarters but that is what makes living in community fun lol, you get to know people better than ever!
The World race is amazing and I am growing so much! This is an amazing opportunity to be around people with the same mindset and goals in mind I am truly thriving. I have learned so much about who I and am seeking hard after my dad to know how He wants me to grow. I finally embracing who I was always called to be and also who my dad says I am!
Continue to follow my journey as I travel the world and get to know the one who created it and all of it’s beauty!
