Two months already… I’m feeling crazy, good, challenged, and eye opened!
I am being stretched in ways I didn’t know I needed to grow in. Jesus has a funny way of showing me what I need to work on and grow in.
This month we have had very limited WIFI and I have loved that; but on the other side it is stretching me to focus on Jesus, run after Him and lay my fears down at the feet of the cross.
One of the things I am walking through with Jesus as well as being stretched in is; not taking other peoples problems on to myself. Giving up my fear and letting Jesus into my struggles. I can be the person that overthinks and stresses myself out over someone else’s struggle or problem when they share them with me, I am learning to give those up to the Lord because me stressing or worrying about it is not healthy. I am so thankful for Jesus’s grace and patience in my life because I am a stubborn person but He extends those things to me.
It was one day two weeks ago that I was sitting with Jesus and listening to Him in prayer. I was praying about my journey so far, thanking Him for what He is doing, showing me and praying about my fundraising. I started to think about my life before the Race and what it looked like to chase after Jesus not on a mission trip. As I continued to sit with Jesus He asked me a question. “Jenny, would you still “race” after me if you were not on the World Race”. I was a little thrown back and took a minute but my response was YES Jesus I want to always race after you. Jesus said okay then “TRUST ME AND LEAVE YOUR WORRIES BEHIND, Race after me with everything you have and things will fall into place”.
I want to encourage everyone reading this that you are on your own World Race with Jesus wherever you are in the world. You could be in the US, Argentina, Alaska; you can experience Jesus and race after Him wherever you are. He is always with you and wants to show you who you are to Him as well as what He wants for your life. Just because I gave up a year of my life to travel and share Jesus’ love with the world doesn’t mean I couldn’t do that at home. You can to, RACE AFTER JESUS WITH ALL YOU HAVE!
