For our last team time as Groovy Crew, it was my turn to lead and I wanted to encourage my team mates. We took time as a team and looked back on the last 4 months together. I decided that we were going to write biography about each other, and ask some questions. How have we grown, What do we bring to a team, How do we feel loved, How do we show love? Here is what we came up with for each other.
My dear crew mates of the Groovy Crew you will each hold a special part in heart. Thank you for all the memories we have together! I love you all, I am thankful for the 4 months we had together and I can’t wait to see what is next for us all in this next season of life. I love you guys!!
Wendy Lee My Twin Sister<3
Who is wendy?> Wendy is our Captain. She is a great cook. Loves her Korean drama tv shows. If she could pick a celebrity to play he in her life movie it would be Jennifer Lawrence. She is the hardest worker, so remind he to rest. She will even do the work that no one wants to do, even the small things that no one thinks to do; Wendy does it all. Wendy is a leader because of the way she live life, she leads by example, and even though she has not fully embraced it she is a LEADER. You might have to ask her to repeat herself because she is louder in her head than she is in conversation. Pretend she hates Korea, but secretly loves it. She is conveniently Korean or American, it depends…lol. Wendy is an advocate for people, a voice to the voiceless, humble, and fiercely loyal. Wendy works behind the scenes and likes it that way. If you walk slow don’t walk next to wendy, she is the fastest walker that ever lived. Wendy is secretly a ninja in all aspects of the word, she also has a huge servants heart. Wendy does the nice unpredictable things for you. Fun Fact about Wendy is she wants to meet someone from the Mob. If you can help her do this it would make her so happy.
How has Wendy grown in the past four months?> Wendy has found her voice, has more confidence in herself and being a leader. Wendy finds her identity is in the Father. She is creating her own journey as a child of God. She is growing in conflict resolution and inviting people into her struggles.
What does Wendy bring to a team?> Wendy bring good cooking, serves selflessly, joy, laughter and comedy. She get things done, efficiency, leads without a title, and sets a good example. Wendy gives very needed and direct feedback. Wendy is a goofball and brings surprises and he unique character. Consistently spends time with the Lord
How does Wendy feel loved?> Wendy feels love when she’s respected, when she is invited in, and seen, also when you take her feedback seriously. Quality time, soju, coffee, hugs and words of affirmation are just some more ways she feels loved.
How does Wendy show love?> Acts of service, listens to you when you speak and asks good thought provoking questions, honesty, pays attention to details, patience, mercy. Wendy makes you coffee in the mornings and serves you well. Wendy is someone who you can lean on, talk to, process life with, she cooks for you, and she always puts herself second.
Carolyn Miller <3
Who is Carolyn?>
Carolyn is crazy, but you have to love her! To her treasurer she needs her food money 1 day in advance, no joke. She always has at least 10 lbs of stuff with her at all times, she is the deliverer of a message. She is artistic which is one of the reasons she doesn’t like to wear clothes other people may own. Carolyn has the talent of wearing the same pair of clothes for a week and not smell. She loves the color mustard yellow, water coloring and english grammar is a passion of hers. She sees all of the small pieces around, physically, but also in people and can help put the pieces together. She knows the bible and that’s because she has read it 18 times. Mayhem is in her head, she is google and google is ALWAYS right. Carolyn always has her journal and is writing things down constantly. Carolyn hears from the Lord in beautiful ways, ask her about it. She is passionate and, her soul is a scrapbook, and can fall asleep ANYWHERE!! AYYY GOOO is her go to saying.
How has Carolyn grown in the past 4 months?> Carolyn does not take other people’s emotions upon herself anymore. Committed to resolving conflict. She is learning how to choose the team and people in general.
What does Carolyn bring to a team?> Enthusiasm, servants heart, committed to excellence, zeal, passion, biblical knowledge like no other, humor. She also brings energy, her contagious laugh, unbridled love, beautiful and thoughtful notes, and most certainly creativity.
How does Carolyn feel loved?> Feed her, quality time, pursue her, thoughtful note or gift, friendship, being up front and honest with her.
How does Carolyn show love to others?> Gifts, encourager, words of affirmation, attention to details, and she knows/ sees how people feel loved and will do it.
Jaclyn McAlester My older Sister<3
Who is Jaclyn?> Jaclyn is a doctor. She has a direct line of communication with the Lord, and a unique, beautiful and powerful intercessor. She is a true Asian-Japanese to be exact. She is a secret leader, likes borrowing other people’s clothes and doesn’t like to wear her own. She has the most minuscule handwriting of any human, and would rather eat a brownie than dinner. She must have her battery at 90% or she freaks out, and her water bottle at 75%. Jaclyn needs at least one shower a day and needs to be first.
How has Jaclyn grown in the past 4 months?> Jaclyn has grown in hearing the Lord’s voice and speaking up when she needs to. She says the hard things. She chooses people, and joy. She does crazy things that God asks her to do.
What doe Jaclyn bring to a team?> Jaclyn is a sanctuary for a team. She is willing to listen to you for hours, gives honest and true advise. She is a great friend, brings joyful peace, unity, and brotherly kindness, beautiful smile and patience.
How does Jaclyn feel loved?> Physical touch-she needs hugs, quality time, allow her to be herself. Share food with her, pray for her, listen to her, and when she is supported and share your clothes with her.
How does Jaclyn show love?> Hugs, long suffering, patience, words of affirmation, kindness. Consideration for others, doing the dishes, prayer for you, and encouragement, even if she doesn’t accept it for herself.
Tori Bulgier<3
Who is Tori?> Tori is an individual, loves the sun, cares without borders, and an old soul in a 22 year old body. Tori feels and cares about everyone and everything deeply. Tori loves red wine, could out serve anyone on our squad. Tori loves animals more than people. Tori views the world like an open book, and can’t stop reading. Tori is a true adventurer at heart, and has to do her exercises everyday. Tori eats like a rabbit, loves vegetables, and hates whipping cream. Tori is a human garbage disposal, and has enough clothes in her bag to clothe our whole squad.
How has Tori grown in the past 4 months?> Tori has grown in her relationship with the Lord, learned how to pray beautifully and honestly. Tori has learned how to be there for other people, and with that she has learned she needs people.
How does Tori feel loved?>Food, quality time, being heard, hugs and red wine.
How does Tori show love?> Acts of service, words of affirmation, being helpful and rarely share her food so when she does TAKE IT!!
Cristina Gavazuic MOM <3
Who is Cristina?> She is a mom at heart, has a Mary Poppins bag. Don’t talk to her before 12pm and atleast one cup of coffee in her system. Her love for romania, food and coffee overflows. Cristina tastes everything, and shares what she has willingly. Biggest prayer warrior I know, Blessed and highly favored. Cristina doesn’t know how to whisper, knows God’s love unlike anyone else. If you hear strange slapping noises in the other room it is her dancing around with her headphones in. Only gives feedback one on one, and is wise beyond her years!
How has Cristina grown in the last 4 months?> Her confidence, she has found her calling and fully embraced her gifts. Obedience to the Lord.
What does Cristina bring to a team?> Wisdom, grace, friendship, childlike joy, peace, genuine care, and perspective.
How does Cristina feel loved?> Quality time-coffee dates, feed her and Acts of service.
How does Cristina show love?> No personal bubble and will invade yours, gifts and physical touch.
