I don’t have a host…
I don’t have a steady place to stay…
I just have what is in my backpack, my Papa, and my Groovy Crew Family…
I do have is My Papa right beside me walking hand in hand with me! And that right there means that I am going to be just fine! I have nothing to worry about, Papa is going to provide He ALWAYS does!
Now you might be asking yourself what does this mean? Why don’t you have a host or a place to stay?
It all started 2 weeks before leaving for Serbia, we receive our set up sheet. Opening it up my heart is beating so fast I though it was going to come out of my chest.
WE ARE UNSUNG HEROS!!!
This month my team and I’s job is to build connections with people and helping to find new contacts and potential hosts! We are praying and following Papa’s lead. He has led us well so far!
When I found out this new month I was exhilarated! The past 5 months have been amazing and I am so overwhelmed by what I have been learning, as well as how I have been growing! I can not wait to see how Papa uses my team and I this month in this new country.
The fact of the matter this month is what we make it! So we are praying hard into what is Papa asking us to do, where to go, who to talk to, even where to stay!
Right now we are in Belgrade, Serbia at a Hostel just soaking up all we can about this beautiful country! It is beautiful here and Papa is already moving!
Upon arriving in Serbia we still didn’t know where we were staying in Belgrade. We knew we wanted to stay here for about a week and really get to know Serbia and the people to see what the needs were.
So once we landed we met as a team in the airport and prayed together; asked Papa where to go as a starting point! We ended up coming to the center of the city and grabbing lunch. From there we went to the mall to did more research on hostels. As we are sitting there looking at what feels like the 1000 hostel and it is only 650 FT away from my location!
Right before I left to check out the hostel, Carolyn my team mate found a non- profit that helps people who are struggling get back on their feet. She called them to see if we could stay there for the night and meet with them to talk about the vision of their organization. They said it was too late of notice to get a room tonight but they would love to set up a meeting to talk with us!
So me an cristina head to the hostel to talk with them and see if they have room and can work with us on pricing. As we head to the hostel I am just praying God what does this city have for us? He gave me the words “children’s hospital”. I was like okay. Long story short we get the hostel booked and while talking to the girl there, we are telling her what we are doing here and what we hope to accomplish. We asked her that if she knew of any non profits or organizations that would want to meet with us to let us know. She immediately said ” I know of one right off the top of my head!” There is a care center that is where parents and Children fighting Leukemia stay. My jaw almost hit the floor! A childerns hospital!!!!
So to catch you up I have a place to lay my head and call home for now, 2 meetings with hosts, and my heart is so full with Papa’s love and favor on my team! Man we serve an amazing Papa who loves us so much and if we are willing to be uncomfortable for Him, He will bless you like you will ever expect! WOW!!!!
