You know this process is already teaching me so much! I am learning new things about WHO God is and WHO I AM in Him! I can’t wait to see how God continues to illuminate those things to me!
I have been working really hard lately with trying to reach out to different people, organizations, churches to partner with me in this amazing faith journey! But if I am being honest I have been struggling! A few weeks ago in the high school bible study I lead on Wednesday nights, we were talking about the storms in our life and how we should handle them when they come up. I brought them to the story of David and Goliath in 1 Samuel 17! I have heard that story so many times in Sunday school and in different sermons; but this time was different than all the others! God really grabbed my attention this time with focusing not that David defeated Goliath but HOW David defeated Him! I love this story because, I think it is a perfect example of how we should face the “giants” in our lives. Also it shows us that God can use anyone to make His plan come to fruition no matter who they are, what they have done or even their appearance. Everyone in David’s life was telling him that he couldn’t face Goliath; he was too small, weak and He didn’t have the right training. Everyone was looking at David and what He could do not what God could do through David! David was so confident that He was going to succeed not because He was this mighty warrior that was going to defeat the ultamate giant. He said you are all right i am not this great warrior, Im not strong, Im not powerful…BUT MY GOD IS AND HE WILL BRING ME THROUGH THIS!! David told all the people who doubted him not to fear! His faith in God surpassed everything, “Don’t trust me TRUST GOD.”
So often in Our lives we think God I cant do that, Im not the “right” person, Im not strong enough, Im not _____ You fill in the blank. This where We go wrong. We can not overcome our giants when we get in the way. We can’t put God in this box and say I am willing to do this for you God but I definetly can’t do that. Even when we feel helpless, small or that we can’t do something that God has called us to do. We have to remember that God’s got us in His hands and We can do all things through Him; because He gives us the strength to get through it.
Going back to David’s story. He admitted that He wasnt going to be able to defeat Goliath by himself. He got to the point where He got out of the way. He just let God work through Him and He was faithful to go where God called.
God has been using this story and David’s faithfulness to encourage me in this journey. This is a hard process! God just continues to remind me that I cant say or do the perfect things to get people to come on my team. He just keeps reminding me that I have called you to go and I am going to provide all of what you need! JUST TRUST ME, continue to faithful and put in the work…I will bless it!
We all have giants in our life, they may not be a Goliath but God is faithful to help us face our giants! All of our giants are not going to look the same as each others. They are going to be unique to us and or Faith Journey! God uses our giants to draw us closer to Him! He knows what He is doing!! He’s got this!He just wants us to faithful put in hard work and let Him figure out the rest!!
Thank you all for taking the time to read my thoughts and struggles on this journey! Please continue to pray for me in the step of faith.
Please consider donating to help me reach my goal and to go on this amazing journey!! I cant do this by myself. I know that God has called me to go and I am being faithful to that unique call on my life. I am asking you to come join me in this faith journey and donate financially to me! Join my Team!!
THANK YOU!!!
