Jenny asked me to write a blog for her page.  I said yes, but I really don’t know how to write a blog.  So, I’m going to tell you a story, a story about a little girl.

Jenny was born to parents who waited for God to give them a blessing of a child for several years.  She was born and raised (mostly) in Wisconsin.  Her parents were very involved in a small church and were workers in the youth ministry.  Jenny spent many hours at church and youth group.  At home, we’d read and talk about God and his love.  At an early age, Jenny, decided she wanted Jesus to be her savior and took his gift of eternal life.  After that she became a beacon of God’s love and wanted everyone to become a child of God.  One time, her grandmother was visiting and she asked her if she was going to heaven.  Her grandmother said, “I sure hope so Jenny!”  Jenny then told her, “well don’t you know, that you can know if you’re going to heaven!”  And proceeded to lay out the gospel with ease, as if she had done it a million times.

A few years later during VBS, the theme was about missionaries and sharing God’s love with the lost.  Jenny decided then and there that she was going to be a missionary and go to Africa.  As the years continued, Jenny’s desire to serve Jesus grew.  Fast forward a few years, we move to Florida and Jenny’s youth pastor has a huge heart for missions.  Jenny goes on many mission trips throughout high school.  She learns a ton and her heart continues to grow for missions.

After high school, Jenny went to Nashville and was involved in a program that was designed to help learn the skills to be a missionary.  She immersed herself into a community of Kohistani refugees. She taught English and learned some of their language as well.

She came home, got her own place, and had several different jobs to make ends meet.  All the while, in the back of her mind, she hadn’t forgotten her dream.  Then one day at church, she met a young lady who had just come back from the World Race.  She had several conversations with this young lady and decided to apply to do the World Race.

When Jenny told us about the race, I must admit I was skeptical. $18,000 is a lot of money to raise, honestly, I never thought she’d raise enough to go.  God has made it abundantly clear that this was his plan.  He has paved the way, and provided it surprising ways.  She hasn’t quite made it to being fully funded, but I am confident that God will continue to provide. Please consider joining Jenny by praying and if able financially.
