TEAM SPLASH!!!
(This is us eating Shawarma at McDonor’s our fav place in Kobuleti)
Team Leader: Me 🙂
When I was asked to team lead it was not an easy decision for me because saying yes to this meant that I had to give up logistics coordinating and give up that team. When I asked the Lord about making this decision he told me that he wanted me to implement all the lessons I learned on the race and share them with my new team. One of those lessons being to recognize and acknowledge that leadership is a gift he has given me and that me pushing it away or not accepting leadership roles was essentially me telling the Lord that he made a mistake. So I said yes, and honestly I could not have picked a better team for me than these humans. So without further to do, here they are:
Jada:
Jada hails from Grafton, West Virginia and very proud of that. She sees people so well and loves them even better. She is fierce, strong, fun, and wild. Jada has a deep love of the Bible and is diving in to study it all the time. She asks great questions and has so much wisdom to share. This woman knows the father’s heart and walks in the freedom it brings. A fun fact about Jada is that she is considered our squad doctor because she has a passion for the medical field and studied biology. She is a certified nursing assistant, but she loves looking up and studying infectious diseases.
Kaylin:
Kaylin is from Taylorsville, North Carolina. She loves animals and will always stop to say hi to the stray cats and dogs we pass by. Kaylin is one of our worship coordinators and is passionate about the many different ways we worship. She has a mothers heart and is always willing to help and she is constantly seeking to understand people and the world around her. She lives in the deep and asks thought provoking questions because she honestly wants to hear your perspective. Kaylin loves to wrestle with the hot topics, and believes that it is through the wrestling that discovery is made. Fun fact about Kaylin is that she has the voice of a Disney princess. This girl can sing, she had pipes that will raise goose bumps all over your body.
Breanna (Bre):
She is from Minnesota (Don’t ya know). Bre has a passion for the overlooked and neglected. This girl SEES people. She sees people that most people don’t even know are there. She not only sees them but she seeks them out. She has a way of giving dignity back to people that can only be explained by Jesus. Bre has such a playful spirit and approaches the father like a child often. She is childlike, fun, a great question asker, she knows who she is, and she invites you into the freedom she feels. Fun fact about Bre is that she should not be alive. (Go read her blog, it explains everything)
Daniel:
Dan is from Klamath Falls, Oregon, but has also lived in Washington and Hawaii. He has such a big heart. Dan is fearless when it comes to evangelism. I have never met anyone who so freely walks up to people and starts sharing his heart and the gospel with them. He is passionate about all people and takes divine appointments seriously. This man genuinely wants to know how your heart is and where your head is at. Dan is a talented electrician and had used his talents to bless people on the race. Dan is now our squads only logistics coordinator because Allie and I both are team leads now. I am thankful that he is on my team because that means that I didn’t have to give up being his teammate when I gave up logistics coordinating. Fun fact about Dan is that he is a talented painter. A couple weeks ago he bought water colors from the store and painted a picture, and it looked like something you would see in a gallery.
Connor:
Yupp I get the pleasure of staying on a team with this man. Connor hails from Latrobe, Pennsylvania. He is creative, bold, charismatic, and gifted in winning people over. Connor has a passion for preaching the word and a desire to do missions full time. He is a talented vlogger (check out his YouTube channel) and a gifted storyteller. He has been given a unique platform to change and touch people’s lives. Connor has this way of breaking through any language barrier. He has long conversations with people who know zero English and it is amazing to watch. Fun fact about Connor is that he is very proud of being valedictorian of his class in high school. The funny part is that he was the only one in his graduating class (perks of going to a small baptist school).
