This year for lent I gave up looking in mirrors. I’ve never done lent before and my team and I decided to honor God by fasting from a stronghold in our lives for 40 days!
Through prayer I knew God was telling me to give up looking mirrors. For years looking in mirror's has been a subtle stronghold in my life and I didn't realize is until now. The first week was difficult but it confirmed that I was looking in the wrong place for my identity and confidence and that the only place I should be looking for that is in Jesus Christ! Jesus Christ who is truth and says that I am beautiful and and that the only thing that matters is what comes from the heart. Throughout this challenge I woke up feeling lighter and I was able to start my day off not looking at my reflection but reflecting on the word of God and the truth he speaks. I now have a better view of myself and I’ve received even more freedom from Christ!
I would like to challenge you to pray and ask God to reveal a stronghold in your life to you. Either fast from it or hand it over to God and your life will be greatly changed.
"This stronghold in my life has been broken! Every day I still have to devote my day to prayer and with Gods power and truth, mirror's will no longer be a stronghold in my life. Amen"
