Jambo! (Hello)

I'm finally in Kenya!!! I love everything about this place. The people are very welcoming. I can finally say that I am on the World Race! Here in Kenya we are called Mazugu's so every where we go, people are constantly say Mazungu's! Right now my team and I are staying at Backpackers Hostel "Supper Cozy I love it".
Kenya is crazy busy and it has the most poverty I have ever seen! There are roughly 4 million people living just in Nairobi. And It’s everyone for them self when traveling, no road rules. Matatu’s have been our transportation so far, it’s a hippy van worn to its bare bones and it seats as many people possible with extremely loud music! The vehicles drive so close here you can actually reach out the window and touch the Matatu driving next to you. It can be scary at times and other times you just have to laugh because there is nothing you can do about it.
The culture of Kenya is very laid back and completely different from back home. There are vendors everywhere and every house, building and store are made from scraps of wood, plastic, cardboard any material that is available. ! Even though the population seems maxed out and the living conditions aren’t ideal the Kenyan’s are supper welcoming and joyful! They love to talk and you know they genuinely want to get to know you.
On our second day here we seen Baboons on the side of the road, it was awesome! There are also some massive birds here, I can’t remember the name of them but they stand close to 4 feet tall!
This month my team and I have been working alongside Winning Team Ministries. And we have started up a foundation called “Rise Up”. The Foundation is to raise support to buy food to bring to the people in Northern Kenya who have been affected by the drought and famine. To tell you the truth this month has been difficult. It’s the first month on the World Race and we are all still getting to know each other and everything is so new to us. Please keep us in your prayers as we finish up our time with Winning Team.
We have about 8 more days left in Kenya and we are traveling to Busia a small town located on the boarder of Kenya and Uganda to work at an orphanage. The plans are to teach the children English, paint fences and some construction projects. I am so excited!
Thank you all so much for your support and prayers.

God Bless
