Following our time in Bangalore, India my team and I traveled to northern India to meet with the rest of the squad for a mini-debrief. During our mini-debrief we had time to relax and worship together. We also had team changes during this time. I knew going into my 4th month on the race that teams would likely be changed because we would be getting new squad leaders since it is now time for our 1st squad leaders to go home (they only stay with us for the first 4 months of the race).
Going into team changes I was completely anxious about what would happen. I feared being separated from the people I had already built relationships with over the last 3 months. On the day of team changes I decided to completely trust God and surrender my team placement in His hands. What a bittersweet experience team changes was for me. I was placed on a completely new team without anyone from my previous team on it. I cried over not being on a team with those who I had grown to love but at the same time I was also incredibly excited about my new team. I will now be serving with an ALL GIRLS team for the remaining 8 months of the race. These women have already won my heart. They are some of the most amazing Godly women I have ever meet and I cant believe how blessed I am to serve alongside them for the rest of the race.
Here is a picture of my new team: (from left to right) Kelly Gauthier, Julie Horst, Sarah Ruplinger, Katie Way, Kate Hughes (our team leader) and myself.
We have decided to name our new team Chi Rho. Chi Rho represents a connection the Crucifixion of Jesus and his triumphal resurrection. It symbolizes the VICTORY that we all have in JESUS!! We are committed to living in that victory and using the power it gives to change the world!
