The past few days my team has been at a day care every day. It has been SO much fun. I’m serious when I say that 50 kids can tire you out more than working construction and smashing up concrete bricks all day

The first day I was in the nursery looking after 14 babies under 1 year old. I still think my heart is in that room and looks like a puddle on the floor. These children are so precious and are usually taken care of by one person if they choose to stay in the room all day. It is very short staffed there and so It was a joy to be able to hold and play with these little ones and not knowing what they are thinking but knowing that the smile on their faces are a reaction to the love that they were receiving.

We also have been painting a playground for them and with extra money donated were able to puy them some playground equipment. Many of these children don't have Fathers so the mothers go to work for the day and send them there and usually everything they will have to eat for that day will be given to them at the daycare. So many of the children will start working once they are old enough and help support their families.

Yesterday we performed a skit for them about sharing and how to serve others. In Guatemalan culture serving is not very big because to them everything comes a price and nothing is usually given for free. We had then share paper and share crayons and then split pipe cleaners in half so that they could all have bracelets. That took all about a matter of 20 minutes. The attention span of a child only last so long and so we played lots of games with them.

They love duck duck goose ( pato pato Gonzo) and Simon says ( Simon dice ). Simon says is simple and easy to learn. You really just follow what the person is doing when they say Simon says. But when you give and instruction without saying Simon says they are not supposed to follow you. If you do the action without Simon saying you are out of the game.

Sometimes we think we are following God and doing the things that please him. We are called to be Christ like and act as Jesus did when he was on this earth. There are times we act out of what God has called us to be and loose our identity along the way. We no longer listen to Him but ourselves and the ideas of this world. One thing I have learned by living in a close community is accountability a making sure our brothers and sisters are following the voice and way of the Lord and not our own. It is beautiful and at sometimes painful to be that honest with one another but the fruit of it is peaceful and righteous.

Do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewal of your mind, that by testing you may discern what is the will of God, what is good and acceptable and perfect. Romans 12:2

What does the body you surround yourself with look like and who’s voice have you been listening to?

God Bless !!!!
