Before coming on the world race we were given a list of questions. After reading them through 3 months into the race I see places where I have succeeded and places were I have failed miserably. But the biggest thing I have learnt is as long as you are willing, you will get the most out of your race. For those who are not going on the world race, as long as you are willing, you will get the most out of this life.
Are you …
Willing to grow and change?
Are you ready to place yourself in a position that will push you to be vulnerable with new people and real with them during this journey? Are you ready to have things brought out in you that aren’t so pretty in order get to a new place that only comes from growth and change. Change is good but it can be hard.
Willing to trust God?
When so much is unknown and you feel like nothing is in your control you are exactly in the right place so that you can fully trust God. You need to now you can trust Him with you schedule, your finances, your heart, your safety and that wherever you are is where He needs you to be.
Willing to depend on the presence of God?
When you are wondering around a community and have no idea how to speak the language or how God can use you to share the gospel you must depend on His presence.
Willing to have a positive attitude?
When you look on your plate and all you see is rice and beans for the 100th time.. stay positive. When the only water you have to shower is from a turtles home.. stay positive. When you are stuck in traffic with a random sweaty armpit in your face on a very crowded bus… stay positive.
Willing to stay in a good community?
Sharing is caring 🙂 You will share everything. Clothes, shampoo, soap, razors, toothbrush, hairbrush, tent, sleeping mat, ipods, water, food and the biggest thing.. Feelings 🙂
Willing to consider yourself less important than others?
Are you willing to hang over that last baby wipe to your friend knowing the next bathroom will not have any TP.
Willing to limit emotional past and baggage?
Your past is your testimony and you will share it with your new family friends and strangers constantly. It is meant to bring you and others freedom and not weigh you down.
Willing to be healed?
Are you willing to walk through brokenness and open old wounds that you never let God heal. Give Him control so that all you have to depend on is Him.

Going into month 4 there has been so much change already. Change in continents, change in teams, change in time zones, and change in ministry. This month my team is involved in a ministry created by Adventures in Missions called Unsung Heroes. What that means is my team will be researching asking around and traveling to potential ministry contacts in the Philippines. We are asking the Lord to lead us to the places where we can send future teams to help serve them and their ministry in any way possible and bring people through our path that need support and help. I am so excited to see the Lord moving and working through so many areas in one country.
Please pray for Gods wisdom and guidance as we find places to stay along the way, safety when traveling throughout the country and as we get to experience so many opportunities to share the love of Jesus everywhere we go.
