I am now in a village called Dragnesti in Romania. We are working for a church called Hope that is not only changing this village but also the surrounding villages. They are bringing light to a place that is very dark. Alot of people in this area have never heard of Jesus. I am already so thankful to be a part of this church and the lives they are changing.
Yesterday I was with Anna the pastors wife and a group of women from my squad. We were handing out invitations to come to an eyeglass event the church was having where people could come and hear the word and get free glasses. Free glasses to a lot of these people is such a huge gift. It was amazing how the Holy Spirit was moving yesterday and how we were led to multiple people who were not saved and believed that by doing good deeds they would go to heaven. This was my first time really evangelizing and I couldn’t have asked for a better experience. Two people came to the lord yesterday, we prayed over a blind woman for healing, and met a woman at a well. God led us right to who he wanted us to speak to and the amazing part is they were all open to hearinf about him.
There is one guy in particular that really touched my heart. His name was Nicoli and I would say he was in his early 60s. He was sitting in front of his house and when we walked over to him you could tell he was happy to be able to talk to someone. He said he was very lonely and he didn’t have any family members left. It broke my heart. I wanted to hug him right then to let him know he wasn’t alone but in the Romanian culture itis not normal for a woman to hug a man they didn’t know. When we asked if he believed in the Lord he said yes and he prays to him every night. We asked him if he died if he knew he would go to heaven. He said yes because he has done good deeds. We explained to him that good deeds wouldn’t bring him to heaven and that excepting Jesus as his lord and savior and believing he died on the cross for his sins would. I think he understood but not completely. He then brought us into his back yard to show us his picture of Mary and told us how he prays to her. This is common in Eastern Europe. They worship a lot of idols. We then went to the 10 commandents and showed him how we should not worship false idols. What happened next I did not expect. He took the picture down and walked over to us. We asked him if he wanted to be saved and he said yes without any hesitation. We spoke a prayer over him and he repeated. He was so happy and it honestly was something that I have never experienced. He seemed so full of joy! I am so thankful I was able to be a part of this.
I never expected to meet Nicoli. I will never forget him. Going into the world race I prayed to have a heart like Jesus and for my heart to break for what breaks his. He answered my prayers yesterday.
Thanks for following me on this journey. I am still trying to meet my next deadline at the end of September. Will you prayerfully consider to donate.
